Earth Balls

These earth balls tastefully show the layers of the earth.  To make they you need:
1/4 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup peanut butter
about a 1 teaspoon of honey
chocolate chips
jelly
one crushed graham cracker

Mix together the peanut butter and powdered milk.  Add the teaspoon of honey and mix until it makes a soft dough.  Using about a walnut size ball of the dough, roll into a firm ball.

Cut the ball in half trying not to squish it.

Using the end of a spoon poke a small indentation into one side of the ball.  Your pinkie finger would work too.

Put the jelly in the indentation and a chocolate chip on the other side.

Put the halves back together and roll in your hand a little bit to get it to stick back together again.  Roll in graham cracker crumbs.

The ball now has the earth's core (chocolate chip), hot, molten outer core (jam), semi liquid magma (peanut butter dough) and the crust (graham cracker crumbs).

You can put the whole earth in your mouth at once or slowly nibble on it uncovering the layers.  Either way, have some milk ready as they are a little dry.

Great idea.

We will have to try these.

So fun to have a snack and play with your food! :)

Terrific! I have never seen this done with food and looks more fun than clay earth balls.
